Cycling is heavily fashionable.

It can take a little longer before the new bike you have ordered arrives.

In the summer campaign of the recycling exchange, the mobile pedestals were only available used, but to take away and at a low price.

That attracted many.

Fürstenfeldbruck -

“The bike has to ride and be safe.” Emil Jaksch from Gernlinden did not come to Fürstenfeldbruck with more demands to the large recyclable material.

And the 19-year-old also received an order from his brother, so to speak, to take a second bike with him.

The bike that Jaksch had previously used was no longer functional, so he was looking for a replacement.

Jaksch is satisfied with his visit.

“I found something that fits.” The lack of air in one of the wheels was tolerable.

Pumps were there.

“That was done quickly, no problem.” And the 50 euros for both bikes didn't put too much strain on the Gernlinden man's wallet.

You don't ask for more than 50 euros per bike, explains Ulrich Baader, head of the recyclables exchange.

The price depends on the condition of the bike or the brand.

“Anyone who comes here knows that they may have to do a little tinkering or repair.” The bargain price is an argument.

Just like the fact that they have to wait weeks or months for a new bike.

“That will be a reason for one or the other to come here,” says Baader.

Women's and men's bicycles, children's bicycles and tricycles are offered.

“You don't have to throw away good things that still work,” says Baader.

So the action also has an environmental character.

He sees himself confirmed by the interest.

Around 80 bicycles were sold after just under an hour.

The campaign was also advertised at other large recycling centers, explains Kristina Huber from the waste advice service of the waste management company (AWB). Bicycles were also collected at the other locations and transported to Fürstenfeldbruck. “It's just central for most of them,” says Huber.

Christian Rasenberger from Maisach also thinks it is a good location.

He's looking for a new bike for his four-year-old daughter. “It's just a short jump over here.” This time, Rasenberger and his daughter won't find anything.

The right size for the girl is not included.

He thinks it's great that there is a recycling exchange and such campaigns.

Searching, rummaging and trying things out, you have to like that.

“For some, however, the financial side is also a reason,” says the Maisacher.

You don't have 150 or 200 euros for a new bike in your pocket.
