The Observatory issued a reminder at about 8 pm that a thunderstorm area at the mouth of the Pearl River is approaching Hong Kong. In the next one or two hours, a wide area of Hong Kong may be affected by heavy rain. The public should be more vigilant.
The Observatory’s lightning location information service shows that the thunderstorm belt is moving from Shenzhen to Hong Kong from north to south.

[20:30] The Observatory recorded strong gusts of more than 80 kilometers per hour at Tai Mei Tuk. Strong gusts of 80 kilometers per hour or more are expected to continue to blow Hong Kong.
[19:45] The Observatory said that a thunderstorm area at the mouth of the Pearl River is approaching Hong Kong. In the next two or three hours, the rain may be heavy in some areas of Hong Kong. The public please be vigilant. It is expected that there will be squally thunderstorms in Hong Kong, and it is expected to be as high as 70 per hour. Strong gusts of kilometers or more hit Hong Kong.
