This emerges from a letter to the Bundestag candidates of the Union, which is available to the German Press Agency and which first reported on "The Pioneer" on Tuesday evening.
In the document signed by CDU General Secretary Paul Ziemiak and CSU General Secretary Markus Blume, the justification states: "The crisis management as well as the reconstruction work in the regions affected by the severe weather disaster require our attention and our commitment." In North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland- In the Palatinate, the clean-up work continues after the flood disaster.

The multi-day event in the amusement park in Baden-Württemberg is therefore to be replaced by a “central election campaign kick-off on August 21 in a different setting in Berlin”.
After a hybrid event, “Germany's largest door-to-door campaign in the whole country, the hot election campaign phase” will be ushered in.
According to the original plans, the outgoing Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) as well as all Bundestag candidates from the CDU and CSU were expected in Rust in addition to Union Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet and CSU boss Markus Söder.
Among other things, campaign training courses were also planned for the period from August 19 to 22.
The general election is due on September 26th.
The end of the election campaign of the CDU and CSU is planned for September 24th on the Nockherberg in Munich.
