Antonov pointed out that the two sides were also able to reach an understanding in the UN Security Council regarding the mechanism for the entry of humanitarian aid across the border in Syria.
The summit between Putin and Biden on the 16th of last June discussed a wide range of issues, including the situation in Syria, Libya, Afghanistan and others, in addition to issues of strategic stability, combating the coronavirus pandemic, fighting cybercrime, economic cooperation, climate change and various regional crises, in addition to outstanding issues in bilateral relations between the two countries. To that, Antonov expressed Russia's readiness to discuss any strategic weapon with the United States, whether nuclear, offensive or defensive.
Antonov said that "Russia is open to dialogue on arms control issues and we do not have taboo topics.. We are ready to discuss American concerns about our new strategic systems," adding, "We believe that it is important for both sides to focus on those counter-attack systems that can reach the targets." on the territory of the other side.
Antonov indicated that Russia and the United States will have to involve new parties in arms control agreements, pointing out that the priority in this will be the involvement of Britain and France.
With regard to cyber security, Antonov announced that Russian and American experts have started active contacts in this regard, explaining that “the Americans have selective positions and prefer to focus consultations on issues of electronic extortion, while we are counting on a dialogue with a comprehensive approach because the problem of information security is much broader than that.”
