The local group Poing of the Bund Naturschutz already exists, but until recently there was no executive committee.
Now he has been elected.
The chairman is Miriam Benthaus.
Poing - When electing the Pope, it usually takes several days before a new head of the church is determined.
With the election of the board of the new local group Poing of the Bund Naturschutz (BN) even more than nine months.
The reason for the difficult birth is the corona pandemic, because of which no ordinary founding meeting with election of the board was possible.
Now this has been made up for - in the open air in the Theatron in Bergfeldpark.
Local group members and interested citizens came to complete the founding process.
Miriam Benthaus was elected chairman, and all other offices (see box) were elected unanimously.
The board of directors
1st Chair: Miriam Benthaus
2nd Chair: Charlotte Schmidt
Secretary: Yvonne Großmann
Assessor: Peter Fritsch, Christine Landgraf, Daniela Renner and Christina Tarnikas.
The BN local group emerges from the community of interests (IG) species protection.
As Christina Tarnikas (formerly spokeswoman for the IG and now spokeswoman for the BN local group) reports, the decision had already been made in late summer 2020 to dissolve the IG species protection and convert it into a BN local group.
The founding meeting should have taken place in autumn with new elections, which was not possible due to the corona rules.
Poing: Interest group goes over to local group
The now officially new BN local group wants to continue the projects that have already been started by the IG Artenschutz.
"For example, the commitment against the careless throwing away of cigarette butts as well as the optimization and expansion of flower strips and areas in Poing," Tarnikas lists.
In addition, the local group wants to work against light pollution and for the preservation of old trees and the planting of new ones.
Furthermore, an autumn cleaning campaign (similar to the spring Ramadama) is being planned.
