Civil Defense personnel and the extinguishing of the Homs Agriculture Directorate put out today two fires that broke out in areas of dry weeds and fruitful trees in agricultural lands in the villages of Al-Juwekhat and Kafram in the western countryside of Homs.
Brigadier General Ghiath Aqel, Director of Civil Defense in Homs, told SANA reporter that the branch’s members, with the support of the Agriculture Directorate’s firefighting department, were able to cordon off the fire that broke out in the agricultural lands of the village of Al-Juwekhat and reached dry grass and apple trees, preventing its expansion and completely extinguishing it, indicating that the burned area amounted to about 20 dunams.
In turn, Elias Bitar, head of the Talkalakh Forestry Division, indicated that the firefighting cadres of the Homs Agriculture Directorate put out a fire that affected areas of grass and trees in the agricultural lands of the village of Kafram in the western Homs countryside.
Today, firefighters from the Homs Agriculture Directorate, in cooperation with the municipality of Al-Hawash, put out a fire that erupted with dry herbs and olive trees near the Al-Mazina Dam in the western countryside of Homs.
