A fatal car accident occurred in Wan Chai. At 8:11 this (28th) morning, a 39-year-old non-Chinese male driver drove a seven-seater car along Xiamen Street and turned right out of Queen’s Road East. He ran into a collision at the second phase of Hopewell Center. The 69-year-old Li was surnamed. Li suffered severe head injuries and injuries to his hands and feet. He fell into a coma. Ambulancemen rushed him to Ruttonjee Hospital for emergency treatment, but died.

The Transport Department announced that due to a traffic accident, some traffic lanes from Queen's Road East towards Admiralty near Chun Yuen Street have been closed.


According to sources, Xiamen Street can only turn left on Queen's Road East. Someone is suspected of turning right. At the same time, the accident location is not a pedestrian crossing. The right front of the seven-person car knocked down the crossing old man. The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing death.
