Ankara-Sana
The Turkish regime authorities evacuated homes in the coastal town of Manavgat overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, southwest of Turkey, today, due to raging forest fires fanned by strong winds.
Turkish media reported that the authorities had asked residents of the city to stay away from the path of the fire, while firefighting teams were trying to control it, according to Muhyiddin Bugic, the town's mayor.
Patients at Manavgat General Hospital were transferred to another hospital as a precaution, and there were no immediate reports of injuries.
The cause of the fire was not clear, but forest fires are common in Turkey's Mediterranean and Aegean regions during the hot summer.
