The sessions of the second day of the Syrian Expatriate Researchers Conference 2021, which will be held at the Al-Assad National Library in Damascus, focused on information technology, smart systems, nanotechnology, and technology and knowledge management.

In his intervention during the sessions, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the caretaker government, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, stressed that the conference achieves partnership, especially in the field of scientific research, between Syrian researchers and expatriate young participants from universities in different countries, in addition to its rich and varied axes.

Ibrahim pointed out that there is a memorandum of understanding between Syria and Iran in the educational and health sector to supply equipment to Syria at a value of $4 million for the educational sector and $6 million for the health sector and educational hospitals.

In the axis of information technology and smart systems, Dr. Anas Al-Menoufy presented a research paper on passive radar, and indicated in a statement to the representative of SANA that the passive radar depends on detecting the target based on the treatment of reflections for signals such as FM and radio broadcasts, indicating that the research goal is to develop passive radar so that it is available to all parties. without being confined to a specific destination.

In the axis of nanotechnology, Dr. Samar Marjan presented a research on the fabrication of a nanocarrier that carries cancer drugs and delivers them directly to cancerous tissues. She said: Cancer drugs have significant side effects, and the carrier she made delivers the cancer drug to the cancer cell and is released inside it without affecting the normal cells.

For his part, Dr. and researcher Yanal Al-Qudsi presented a research paper that talks about comparing the effect of nano-fertilizers with chemical fertilizers on productive characteristics, explaining that in light of the economic, agricultural and productivity crisis that the world is experiencing, the importance of nanotechnology comes because it works to save agricultural production costs and needs, especially fertilizers and pesticides, which constitutes a solution. It is important for agricultural problems, increasing farm profit and supporting the agricultural economy.

He pointed out that work began in this field through cooperation with research bodies, the Higher Institute of Applied and Technological Sciences and cooperation with Arab countries, especially Iraq.

The researcher and engineer Tarek Fawzi, the expatriate in Thailand, presented during the conference sessions his research, which is a device that predicts the age or breakdown of any device that has movement or electrical effects, such as household appliances, indicating that this device can be applied in industrial cities such as Sheikh Najjar, Hassia, Adra, or any production line .

Dr. Nisreen Surak from Britain also presented her research in a live broadcast method, a study on the official website of the Syrian Ministry of Tourism and the technology of content analysis through the use of 8 criteria related to product descriptions, prices, reservations, jobs, “Social Media” and others.

In the axis of technology and knowledge management, Dr. Zakwan Koreit talked about the processes of knowledge management in higher education institutions and the strengthening of its role in the transition towards e-learning, noting that the idea of research resulted during the Corona pandemic and the isolation of most students in their homes, which led to the lack of follow-up of the teaching process and from here it arose It is necessary to take advantage of the existing knowledge management in any university or research center, especially since there are some knowledge that may not be apparent. We seek to harness this knowledge and establish electronic platforms to give remote lectures.

The exhibition of scientific posters accompanying the conference included 13 posters on the reality of technical knowledge management in research laboratories, computer design for prosthetic shirts, and a proposed algorithm to improve text extraction in Arabic question-answer systems.
