Homs-Sana
The poetry evening, which was held today in the literary hall of Sami Al-Droubi at the Cultural Center in Homs, included a collection of patriotic and lyrical poems presented by a number of poets of Homs and Tartous.
The evening was started by the poet Dr. Majid Karout with a sentimental poem in which the poet and his feelings are manifested, entitled “No time for birds.”
The poet “Sunset Shabib” presented a group of spoken poems, including “Yahif,” “Shorouk and Etab,” and a vertical one that was characterized by the abundance of its words and the depth of its meanings, including “Poetry is a talent – how much I yearn.”
From the city of Safita, the poet “Suleiman Ghanem” had a poem entitled Ya Homs that tells about the suffering of this city from terrorism and the resistance of its people, despite all the tragedies that went through them.
The poet “Nabil Bakhs” presented a prose poem entitled “As a sailor without a boat,” in which he ridicules a painful reality he is experiencing, while he sings in his poem “Bulbul Al-Assi” the magic of Homs, its archaeological landmarks, and its rebellion, describing it as the lyre of the soul.
The poet “Nidal Mahmoud” participated in a poem titled “Communing with an immigrant soul” which tells about the poet’s condition, his dreams, and his influence on the dimension of love and estrangement, including the meanings of love, salvation and wishes.
