Several hundred pages of submission, almost four hours of advice: Herrsching's municipal council dealt with objections, concerns and suggestions about the planned high school on Monday evening.

The criticism of several residents was only noted.

Herrsching

- It was about the size and location of the building itself, the traffic situation, groundwater and rainwater, noise pollution from the playground and sports field, changes in light and, ultimately, a possible depreciation of the property: In some cases more than 20 pages long objections to the development plan for the Herrsching grammar school were received. In a mammoth meeting, the local council dealt with it on Monday evening - and ultimately rejected the objections.

The authorities had also made statements - but none that shook the planning. After almost four hours of deliberation, there were two resolutions that brought the construction of the grammar school a step closer. With only two dissenting votes (Christoph Welsch / Greens and Johannes Puntsch / FDP), the municipal council confirmed the development plan that was being drawn up and the necessary changes to the zoning plan. Both plans are now being revised again and then publicly displayed again.

Two points were particularly important to the municipal councils in the discussion: the rainwater and the traffic situation. Concerns about insufficient drainage of the water caused Dr. Jürgen Busse as a lawyer for the community and land-use planner Melanie Faude to disperse. The water management office in Weilheim announced by e-mail that the rainwater could be diverted through canals, said Faude. “There are no longer any concerns in this regard,” emphasized Busse.

The situation is different when it comes to traffic. Above all, the lack of connection for pedestrians and cyclists to Panoramastrasse and Schönbichlstrasse triggered criticism. As is well known, pupils from this area should in future walk or cycle to Mühlfelder Straße / Summerstraße and use a crossing aid there. "We agree, but we have major concerns about the traffic development," said Anke Rasmussen (Greens) and suggested a renewed treatment in the working group on traffic as well as discussions with the state building authority in Weilheim. She confessed to having "stomach ache" on the subject. Alexander Keim (FDP) made a similar statement. Vice Mayor Christina Reich (CSU) also shared the concerns. Christiane Gruber (BGH) also agreed, but saw some questions not yet clarified. For example, she appealed to the water management office,to comment beyond the e-mail.

Fundamental opposition to the project was made by FDP councilor Puntsch.

"This plot of land is not suitable for this construction project," he emphasized.

Regardless of this, he also paid “all the administrators seated here the highest respect” for the way in which they had presented the topic.

The focus was on Melanie Faude, who read a good 60 A4 pages with objections and considerations.

In the next interpretation phase, citizens, authorities and public bodies such as the Federal Nature Conservation Union can again express their views on the plans.

Observers of the scene consider it to be entirely possible whether the ranks of the citizenry will subsequently attempt to prevent the project by filing lawsuits.
