Pedro Castillo, the 51-year-old rural teacher who defeated Keiko Fujimori in the ballot, was
sworn in as president of Peru on Wednesday in
front of five presidents of the region and the King of Spain, Felipe VI.
Castillo swore "by God, by my family, by my Peruvian sisters and brothers, peasants, native peoples" to hold the office of president of Peru.
