The activities of the Sixth Sultan Pasha Al-Atrash Festival for Cultural Creativity, organized by the Directorate of Culture in Sweida, began today, in appreciation of the heroism of the great mujahid and his companions across the country who made the glory of the liberation with their sacrifices and heroism.

The activities started in the morning with a march for children without family care and an integrated learning center from Bustan Al-Basha in the town of Al-Quraya towards the memorial of the martyrs of the Great Syrian Revolution in it, laying a wreath at the tomb of the Commander-in-Chief of the Great Syrian Revolution and a visit to his guesthouse, followed by planting trees with the names of the Mujahideen “Sultan Al-Atrash, Saleh Al-Ali and Ibrahim Hanano.” and Muhammad Al-Ashmar and Hassan Al-Kharrat” in Al-Sarh Park and decorating the place with the products of the recycling workshop of the Life Skills Team in the Directorate of Culture.

The coordinator of the Life Skills Team Tharaa Atta indicated that the aim of the initiative is to link the present with the past and to introduce children to the ancient struggle history of grandparents and the importance of planting trees.

The opening ceremony, hosted by the Culture Palace Theater in As-Suwayda, included a screening of film material from the memory of the festival in its previous sessions, and a dance theatrical performance by the Scheherazade Dance Theater Company led by the artist Mazen Al-Hakim.

As was customary in every session of the festival, to celebrate one of the revolutionary mujahideen against the colonizer, the festival’s memorial shield was presented to the families of the Mujahid Hussein Murshid Radwan in honor and appreciation of his national and national struggle and heroism in fighting the Ottoman and French colonizers.

The events also included the opening of an exhibition of plastic art, which included 23 artworks with various themes and techniques by artists Asma Al-Hanawi, Eva Al-Abbas, Hamad Azzam, Rabih Ballan, Shadi Al-Aysmi, Shebli Selim, Adel Abu Al-Fadl, Issam Al-Shater, Nabih Balan, Nidal Khweis and Haifa Abdel-Hay.

An exhibition was also opened for the historical document prepared and presented by researcher Kamal Al-Khoufi, and it includes about 50 documents belonging to the Mujahid Sayah Al-Nabwani and his companions covering the stage of the Great Syrian Revolution, including correspondence and others related to the stage of the revolution’s struggle against colonialism in their exile outside Syria, and depicting the political struggle against the occupier, as well as documents related to the affairs of the Mujahid. own.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Basil Al-Hinnawi, Director of Suwayda Culture, said that the festival has become an annual tradition in appreciation of the heroism of Mujahid al-Atrash and his fellow mujahideen throughout the country, and in a belief in the importance of culture and creativity in building a human capable of facing challenges, emphasizing that the Syrian people are steadfast despite all attempts to undermine its civilized message. Launching the Festival Nights event at the Palace of Culture in order to listen to the opinions, ideas and observations of those who would like to enrich the festival with their art, poetry and literature.

The festival's activities last for four days and include cultural, heritage and artistic activities, seminars and lectures, distributed between the city of As-Suwayda and the town of Al-Quraya.
