The Franciscan Conventual Complex, the Monastery and Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in Tlaxcala, in central Mexico, was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The building was added to the set of "First Monasteries of the 16th century on the slopes of Popocatepetl".
The monastery is one of the first five to be established in Mexico and one of only three still standing.
