In Poing there were at least twelve fraudulent calls from "false police officers" on Wednesday evening.
Most of the calls were made to seniors.
The scam is usually the same: the caller pretends to be a police officer and tries, for example, under the legend that intruders could be caught, but two are still fleeting, to ask for information about the ownership of the called party.
Then he tries to get the victims to hand over cash and / or valuables.
Poing: Called people end phone calls in good time
Twelve such calls were reported to the Poing police station on Wednesday evening.
There may have been more, but they have not been communicated.
The perpetrators were active between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. and called older people in Poing in particular, the police reported.
The good news: "In none of the cases did any of the victims suffer any financial damage because they recognized the intent to commit fraud and ended the phone calls in good time," says the press report.
Police warnings
Such fraudulent calls have been recurring recently in the Poing police station area.
It therefore publishes the following warning notices once again:
Basically, be suspicious of such calls!
The perpetrators often use a technical trick that shows the emergency number 110 on the display.
Please note: The police will never call you on the emergency number 110!
In case of doubt, end the conversation as soon as possible without revealing personal data or information about valuables or cash!
Do not respond to requests for sums of money or valuables!
In case of doubt, call the police on a telephone number taken from the telephone book, in urgent cases also on the emergency number 110!
In principle, do not let strangers into your apartment!
Healthy mistrust is not a matter of rudeness: ask for an official ID card from alleged officials, for example police officers!
Talk to your relatives about the phenomenon and warn them about the actions of the perpetrators!
