Afghanistan: "Triple disaster"

Despite their power, their voluntarism and their democratic proselytism, the United States and its allies have only built on sand for two decades in Afghanistan.

After having swallowed up thousands of lives and billions of dollars, they barely pack their bags when their legacy crumbles before their eyes.

The Taliban are once again at the gates of power, the Afghan army threatens to break up, militias and warlords reappear, the Republic and its institutions are hanging by a thread.

Complete disaster, which announces at least three types of regression.

First for the Afghan population, in particular the women and youth who had tasted the scent of freedom, soon condemned to choose between medieval Islamism and a new civil war.

Then on the terrorist front, with the return of al-Qaida, which remained close to the Taliban, and to the local branch of the Islamic State organization, which worries from India to Iran.
