The Kochler municipal council changed the parking fee regulations for the Kochel and Walchensee area on Tuesday.

The occasion was the numerous letters from citizens.

The parking machines are to be set up shortly.

Kochel am See

- at the end of April, the Kochler municipal council presented the parking concept including the fee schedule to the public. Subsequently, said Mayor Thomas Holz (CSU) now in the meeting on Tuesday, there were numerous letters - "partly unqualified and insulting, but also reasonable and helpful hints". The administration would also have "had a few points on the slip". That is why it was decided to readjust the parking fee regulations.

The following changes apply: The first 30 minutes with a parking ticket are free in all municipal parking spaces.

The municipality's parking ticket is valid in all municipal parking spaces within the scope of its validity period.

That means: "If you go to Rabenkopf in the morning and park in Pessenbach, you can still swim at Walchensee in the afternoon with the same ticket," explained Holz.

Charges apply only until 6 p.m.

What is also new is that the fee obligation now only applies until 6 p.m. The community is responding to criticism from locals who “just want to go swimming” after work at Walchensee. There are also hourly rates at more parking spaces. These are the following areas: in Kochel in the Bahnhofstrasse / Friedzaunweg area, in Badstrasse and at the two Franz Marc museum car parks as well as in Altjoch at the Walchensee power plant and in Walchensee at the forest office and at the Hotel Edeltraut.

In fact, the parking machines should have been in place a long time ago. But at the manufacturing company there are delivery problems due to a lack of microchips, said Holz. "We hope that we can set up the machines in two or three weeks." City councilor Frank Sommerschuh from Walchensee (FW) welcomed the new features: "At Gasthaus Edeltraut this is good, for example for boat rental companies," he said.

Sonja Mayer (Die Mitte) asked about the tariffs for locals and their children. According to Holz, there is a “time park pass for people not subject to the resort fee”. Among other things, these are people who have their primary residence in Kochel. If, for example, it is a senior citizen who receives a visit from his child, but who is not registered in the community with primary residence, then the child is not exempt from the health resort fee, explained Mayer's questions in more depth. The mayor also pointed out that only 24 of 40 parking spaces in Kochel are chargeable. Ultimately, the new version of the parking fee regulations was passed unanimously.
