In many European countries, the corona numbers are rising again.

In Spain, France and Italy, therefore, tightened measures are being taken again.

Madrid / Paris / Rome - Spain is currently developing into the new Corona hotspot in Europe.

The seven-day incidence scratches at the 400 mark and stood at 376 as of July 29th. The seven-day mean value of new infections is around 25,000.

Because Spain has been classified as a high incidence area, stricter rules apply when re-entering Germany.

But the measures have also been tightened in the country.

In some regions there is again a night curfew, for example in Catalonia and Valencia.

Where and which rules apply is listed on the website of the Federal Foreign Office.

In the Balearic Islands, which are popular with German tourists, there are restrictions on the opening times of restaurants and shops.

The number of people at meetings is also limited.

Italy introduces “green passport” on August 6th - people protest against privileges for vaccinated people

Corona numbers are also increasing in Italy. Therefore, the government was forced to take measures against the spread of the coronavirus. On August 6, the country is introducing a mandatory health pass for access to closed spaces such as bars and restaurants, but also swimming pools, sports halls, museums, cinemas and theaters as well as amusement arcades. Operators who do not implement the measures face severe penalties.

Known as the “green passport,” the document is issued to people who have received their first dose of vaccine, but also to those who have recovered from Covid-19 or who tested negative in the 48 hours before.

Since the announcement of the measure on Thursday, bookings of vaccination appointments in some smaller regions have increased by 200 percent, according to the authorities.

Thousands of Italians across the country have been protesting against this since last weekend.

In parts of France, it is again mandatory to wear a mask outdoors

The situation is similar in France.

The French are also taking to the streets against President Emmanuel Macron's plans.

From August 9th, the country wants to tighten the hygiene regulations for visiting bars, cafés and restaurants as well as journeys with long-distance trains and coaches.

In some parts of France it is already mandatory to wear a mask outdoors, for example in the Gironde prefecture in the south-west of the country.

In parts of the southeast and east, the mask requirement has also been tightened, as is the case on the holiday island of Corsica, where the incidence is just under 700.
