Heinz Hösle will remain chairman of First Responder Feldafing for a further term.

This was the result of the new elections at the most recent general meeting of the association.

Feldafing - Heinz Hösle remains chairman. But at the annual meeting on Tuesday evening there were definitely changes within the board of directors. Tanja Herde, for example, takes on the position of deputy chairwoman. Her predecessor, Norbert Neubauer, no longer made himself available. With the previous treasurer Mirjam Mickisch, another founding member of the association is leaving its executive committee. Marion Steffens will be her successor. Lukas Itin will act as secretary in the future, who will take over Gabriele Neubauer's duties. The assessors Paul Büttgen and Sophia Schremser were confirmed in their offices. Maximilian Gerber and Dirk Schiecke also continue their duties as auditors.

But what do the Feldafing First Responders actually do? The association, founded in 2013, with its all volunteer members, ensures that in the event of an accident, the time until the rescue service or emergency doctor arrives is bridged with an on-site helper who can provide qualified first aid. Members do this every night during the week and on weekends from Friday evening to Monday morning. Your area of application includes Feldafing, Garatshausen, Wieling, Machtlfing, Traubing, Aschering, Tutzing and Possenhofen. Due to the local proximity of their members, the first responders often have a large lead in terms of time compared to the emergency services and can therefore start caring for the patients at an early stage - and thus often save lives.

At the most recent meeting, the first responders highlighted the years 2019 and 2020, as it was recently not possible to meet all members due to corona. In addition to the new elections, the cash report was one of the items on the agenda. Between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2020, the association's account balance decreased from EUR 40,900 to just under EUR 28,400. This loss is mainly due to the purchase of a new emergency vehicle. Instead of a VW Tiguan, the first responders are now traveling in a significantly better equipped BMW X3.

How important the work of the first responders in the area around Feldafing is, just a look at the deployment statistics from the past few years shows. In 2019, the first aiders were on site for 344 missions, more than half of which were internal emergencies. There were also two resuscitations. The active members did 9,859 hours of voluntary service. In 2020, the numbers were a little smaller due to the corona. So it was “only” 271 missions and 9135 hours. This was particularly due to the fact that between March and June, in order to reduce possible infections, the first responders were only alerted for life-threatening missions with an emergency doctor.
