The unemployment rate in the Miesbach district fell slightly from June to July: from 2.6 to 2.5 percent.

In July 2020 it was 3.0 percent.

The Rosenheim employment agency reports.

In addition: Many companies are still looking for trainees.

District - 1372 citizens are currently registered as unemployed in the district. For the entire area of responsibility of the Rosenheim employment agency, the unemployment rate is 2.7 percent: 8,240 people and exactly 2,330 fewer than in the same month a year ago. "This development is so gratifying because in the period before the corona pandemic, unemployment usually rose in July," says Michael Schankweiler, CEO of the Employment Agency. With regard to groups of people, he adds: “Among the over 50s (-210) the number of people registered with us fell just as much as among people with a foreign passport (-200) and people with severe disabilities (-30).For those under 25 (+110), however, the number of people registered as unemployed has increased - as is customary at this time of the year. "Many of these will probably deregister again in the fall, for example because they are attending a high school or studying."

Schankweiler explains that anyone who does not yet have an apprenticeship has a good chance of finding one, especially if one is a little flexible.

In the Miesbach district alone there are still 363 vacant training positions.

Most sought after are cooks, retail salespeople and hotel specialists - there are at least 40 apprenticeship positions here.

Because of the corona pandemic, internships were often difficult.

The companies are now increasingly offering these again, the agency manager announced.

"Applicants take advantage of the option of a one to two-day trial internship, after which an apprenticeship contract is ideally concluded," he says.
