At Bentley, the “Beyond 100” strategy advocates progressive electrification but to achieve the objective of carbon neutrality, the manufacturer of Crewe will only offer zero-emission models from 2030. For now, Bentley has decided to go through the transition phase of the plug-in hybrid.

After the Bentley Bentayga, it is the Flying Spur limousine's turn to welcome this powertrain in order to reduce CO2 emissions.

Instead of the V8 that usually takes place under the hood of 5.31 meters, we find a V6 2.9 liters with two turbochargers positioned in the V of the block.

It claims a power of 410 hp, or a breathtaking output of 150 hp / liter.

With a 134 hp electric machine located between the automatic transmission and the V6, this limousine provides a cumulative power of 536 hp and a torque of 750 Nm. Thanks to the electric motor boost, performance is close to that of the V8.

100 km / h is reached in 4.3 seconds.

The electric motor is powered by a 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery which provides a zero-emission range of 40 km.

Consumption and CO emissions are in the process of being approved, but the Flying Spur Hybrid should be able to display greenhouse gas emissions of less than 100 g / km.

According to the manufacturer, the battery recharges in just 2.5 hours.

Like all plug-in hybrid vehicles, the English limousine offers several driving modes. The Flying Spur always starts in electric mode and, depending on needs, it is then possible to switch to other driving, hybrid or battery energy saving strategies with a view to crossing a built-up area by example. This luxury limousine will be marketed at the end of 2021.
