The Hong Kong Science Museum will hold an exhibition of "The Science Secrets of Pixar Animation" with the theme of Pixar Animation from tomorrow (30th) to December 1st. There are 8 exhibition areas on site, exhibiting more than 50 physical models, video programs and interactions


The Hong Kong Science Museum will hold an exhibition of "The Science Secrets of Pixar Animation" with the theme of Pixar Animation from tomorrow (30th) to December 1st.

There are 8 exhibition areas on site, exhibiting more than 50 physical models, video programs and interactive exhibits, respectively introducing the technical procedures of Pixar animation production.

The exhibition will adopt a segmented admission arrangement. The public needs to make an online reservation to enter the exhibition. The reservation system will start to accept registration from 2 pm today (29th), and you can make an appointment for the next 7 days.

Citizens must hold a valid QRCODE to enter the venue and purchase tickets. Latecomers will not be entertained.


In the exhibition, citizens will be able to personally experience the different positions and jobs in the animation production process. There are different check-in positions inside and outside the venue. There are three-dimensional models of "Superman Assault Team" and "Playing Brain Friends". Buzz Lightyear in "Monsters Company", and the statues of the protagonists of the classic Pith movie, such as the Maomao and Big Eyes of "Monsters Company".

The lighting area shows the scene of "Underwater Raiders", showing the importance of different light and fog light beam effects involved in creating a realistic underwater environment.

Citizens can try to set the lighting for a scene model of the movie "Sky Rescue" to create a different atmosphere.

Chen Shuwen, director of the Hong Kong Museum of Science, stated that after six years of discussions with the Boston Museum of Science, the exhibits of "The Secret of Science in Piss Animation" can finally be displayed at the Hong Kong Museum of Science.

She said: "Although there are many difficulties in the transportation of the exhibits, it can bring joy to the public during the epidemic."

The exhibition is jointly planned and produced by the Boston Museum of Science and Pyth Animation Studios. It will take the audience to explore the mysterious film making process, and let everyone know the production process of Pyth Animation from a new perspective, and how these films cleverly integrate science, technology, and technology. Engineering, fine arts, and mathematics (STEM) concepts create vivid characters and lifelike scenes on the screen.

For example, in the model building area, citizens can try to create a digital sculpture model based on the artist's sketch.

In this exhibition, citizens can use different physical components to assemble different robots.

In addition, the exhibits in the skeletal structure area explore the basic concepts of virtual bones and show how animators can help the characters in different poses.

The exhibition is equipped with a workstation for establishing a facial skeleton structure, and citizens can use the control device to create various expressions on Tracey's face.

The Hong Kong Science Museum is open from 10 am to 7 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It is closed on Thursdays.
