Lin Wenhan was appointed as a judge of the Court of Appeal of the High Court in 2021.

He has tried many cases, including the judicial review of the right of abode of foreign domestic helpers, the estate of the late Chinachem Group Chairman Gong Ruxin, etc.

Lin Wenhan was appointed as a District Court Judge in 2001, a Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court in 2003, and a Judge of the Court of Appeal of the High Court in 2021.

He has tried many cases, including the judicial review of the right of abode of foreign domestic helpers, the estate of the late Chinachem Group Chairman Gong Ruxin, etc.

Lin Wenhan ruled that the legislative part was unconstitutional when hearing the judicial review appeal of the "Prohibition on Face Masking Act" and that the law should not apply to legal assemblies approved by the police. The government then appealed to the Final Court to overturn the Court of Appeal's decision.

The Chief Secretary for Administration Li Jiachao once pointed out in the Legislative Council that Lin Wenhan has extensive legal experience and is an expert in handling public law and constitutional cases.
