A moving farewell.

Hohenkammer

- It was clearly noticeable how important it was to teachers and children to say goodbye to the popular and well-deserved Rector through the big gate. The letters of the slogan “Goodbye Frau Fannasch” provided the pupils with many wishes for the future - from “Success with the addition to the school” to “Helpful caretakers” to “Apple pie in the teachers' room”. Singing and poetry, teachers and students said goodbye to the director and made it clear again and again that Elke Fannasch has shaped a lot in her eight years at the school since 2013. Fannasch was at the forefront in creating a flexible elementary school. With the rector, digitization was also implemented quickly. “Versatile, willing to compromise and fond of children” - this is how Mayor Mario Berti characterized the rector.

"In Hohenkammer the world is still small and tranquil, they say good children and nice teachers," sang teachers and students.

It is said about the rector that after her time as vice rector in neighboring Fahrenzhausen, she quickly developed the school in Hohenkammer for the better and quickly won the hearts of the school family.

"Your door was always open," said the deputy headmistress Cornelia Firlus.

"The Michael-Ende-Primary School in Unterschleißheim can count itself lucky that we let you go." She thanked the teachers on behalf of the "always appreciative and friendly" approach as well as "the clearly designed signs".

In addition to the friendly words to say goodbye, the departing headmistress was showered with gifts. In an emergency box for the new workplace, she received the basic equipment for future signs, the baking mix for the inaugural cake, non-alcoholic Hugo and decaffeinated coffee. "It's really mean to make all my atrocities so public," said the broadly grinning headmistress. Elke Fannasch thanked them for “this special sign of appreciation” and for “that they endured my sometimes unconventional management style”. Her passion was still to be a teacher as a manager and to teach the children something. “I am grateful for the many children I was allowed to teach here,” said the Rector. "I will always think back to these eight years with a warm heart."

For the grand finale, all the children waited in the playground to say goodbye again.

The new rector Sigrid Baumgartner, who was previously deputy rector in Pfaffenhofen, saw her new, warm school family.
