At around 10.30 p.m., witnesses had found that a car parked there was burning in a carport on Altenfeldener Strasse in Allersberg.
They also observed a car that was hurrying away.
The Allersberg volunteer fire brigade took over the extinguishing work and the Schwabach criminal police investigated.
The first indications showed that it was arson.
Nuremberg: DNA perpetrators exposed by hits
The intensive securing and evaluation of evidence led to a DNA hit that helped to identify the suspect.
It is a 44-year-old who is currently incarcerated for other offenses.
