The Government is preparing a program to
"monitor"
the private activities of officials who occupy high positions in the public administration with the intention of reviewing both the antecedents prior to access to the public function and those that follow.
Through
Resolution 15/2021
, published this Thursday in the Official Gazette, with the signature of the head of the Anti-Corruption Office (OA), Félix Crous, it was entrusted to the Transparency Policy Planning Directorate, responsible for the preparation of policies against corruption in the national public sector, to develop a program to control officials.
The initiative is promoted at a time when Kirchnerism maintains a strong offensive against former President Mauricio Macri, who initiated more than 150 causes, mostly sponsored by the OA.
The cause for the so-called Macrista "Judicial Table", and the alleged illegal espionage, appear on the list of complaints filed against the former president.
In addition, as Clarín reported, Kirchnerism also denounced the former president for the agreement with the IMF, where they even want to impute the directors of the organization who granted the loan of 45 billion dollars.
A little over a month later, Crous, who is a member of
Legitimate Justice
, criminally denounced Macri for alleged malicious concealment of part of his assets and accused him of having carried out stock movements between fictitious companies and non-existent partners to give the appearance of legality to money that could have been obtained in a spurious way.
The complaint was prompted by a report prepared by the General Inspection of Justice, which warned about the possibility that the former president had incurred in the crimes of
illicit enrichment and money laundering
.
The maneuver denounced by the OA refers to stock movements involving the companies AGRO G SA, Latin Bio and even the Blind Administration Trust that Macri signed with the firm Seguridad Fiduciaria SA when he assumed the presidency.
Now the Anti-Corruption Office, through the Transparency Policy Planning Directorate, seeks to design "a
Monitoring
System for
Private Activities Before and After
the Exercise of Public Function."
According to the resolution published in the Official Gazette, this program is going to register "
antecedents, ties and private interests
of people who enter high positions in the National State.
Through this monitoring, "up to
three years before taking office
" will
be audited
, but it will also review the activities carried out by these people upon graduation from public service until
one year after
the cessation of duties.
The purpose of the program is to "check and verify compliance with pre and post public employment regulations, with
citizen control
mechanisms
and active transparency."
Likewise, the same management was entrusted with "the projection of measures and the articulation with the different public and private actors necessary for the design, formulation, evaluation and collaborative planning of the Monitoring System for Private Activities Before and After the Exercise of Public Function. can express its potentiality ".
This initiative is promoted after last year Crous resigned his status as plaintiff in all criminal cases for
corruption
, many of which involve former Kirchner officials, with the argument that
"there is a lack of personnel"
for this task.
