The Excellence and Creativity Authority has extended the registration for the first university competition for robotics and smart systems for the year 2021 and the sending of detailed final reports from the teams wishing to participate in addition to the illustrative videos of the projects until 20-8-2021.

In a statement, which SANA received a copy of today, the authority indicated that the registration was extended with the aim of providing a greater opportunity by giving more time to students working on engineering and research university projects in the fields of robotics, smart systems and industrial applications.

According to the commission’s statement, the projects submitted by the jury will be reviewed and the results of the projects qualified for the final stage will be issued on 30-8-2021, and an exhibition of projects will be held on 25-9-2021, including a presentation for the qualified teams / 15 minutes to discuss research projects for the postgraduate stage and 10 minutes for projects Undergraduate stage/ The results will be released at the end of September 25-2021 and the first winner will be announced for each of the competition’s axes.

The competition includes three axes: robotics, smart systems and industrial applications. Participation conditions include that the project be completed during one of the two years 2020 or 2021, and that it be completed within the framework of a university project.

The authority explained that for graduate students, participation is individual, where one student submits his project compatible with the competition axes using modeling and simulation, using posters and explanatory videos, if any, or any other illustrative tools / simulation of the project or illustrative computer models / attached to the project report and mentioning the name of the research supervisor as well. The applicant must be a registered student in postgraduate studies in a master's degree in public universities, and his research must be original.

For undergraduate applicants, the team consists of 1 to 5 participants, where the teams present their applied projects in addition to the project report and any other explanatory tools, if any. The participants must be registered in one of the public or private universities in Syria.

According to the authority's statement, the projects will be evaluated by specialized scientific committees of academics, researchers and representatives from the industry and business sector. The three winning teams will be honored, where the closing ceremony will be held, and financial prizes will be given to the winning teams with the opportunity to incubate the winning project from the labor market.

The authority indicated that registration can be done by filling out the form provided on the electronic link on the authority’s official page on the social networking site “Facebook”.

On the eleventh of last March, the Syrian Scientific Olympiad Department at the Excellence and Creativity Authority launched this competition, which is held for the first time, with the aim of encouraging university students to complete engineering and research university projects in the fields of robotics, smart systems and industrial applications in order to solve real problems in industry and other fields and evaluate them. He raised the possibility of finding an investor for it.
