After the standstill during the pandemic, a youth meeting has now been called again in the garden of the Hörlkofener youth club.

The organizers wanted to find out what moves the young people in the community and what their wishes are, as well as confirm that their participation is required.

Hörlkofen - "The gap between the youth conferences shouldn't get too big," explained Deputy Mayor Ulla Dieckmann (SPD), who, together with the head of the open youth club, Marina Jell, youth advisor Johannes Sachteleben (Greens) and Mayor Thomas Gneißl (ÜPWG), helped the girls and boys listened and got into group work.

During the meeting, the Hörlkofener playground was visited, which is being redesigned and equipped with new play equipment (we reported).

This large-scale project was designed with the participation of children and parents, who contributed lots of ideas and active collaboration.

Dieckmann referred here to the newly painted playhouse.

The renovated youth club with a new floor, pool table and table football was also presented.

In the discussion rounds, the children and young people expressed their wishes.

A graffiti course with the local artist Mr. Woodland was proposed for the youth club.

Further requests were a modern Playstation and a trampoline in the garden.

Whether the latter can be achieved remains questionable with regard to the duty of supervision, said Dieckmann.

A better public transport connection was an important concern for many.

“Buses should run every hour - also in the afternoon and evening,” said the Vice Mayor, summarizing the young people's wishes.

Together with Gneißl, this topic will remain in focus.

“We will continue to do our bit,” she promised.

As additional offers in the municipal holiday program, the young people suggested an open-air cinema like in Walpertskirchen, but also a teenagers' disco and a trampoline campaign. The installation of street lamps between Hörlkofen and Wörth for better lighting was another request. A slide, a swing and a diving platform were brought into the debate for the Wörther Weiher. Here, however, the municipality was very cautious - with reference to the risks, the municipal safety concept that had to be drawn up for liability reasons, and also to the natural embedding of the bathing pond in the landscape protection area.

Basically, all suggestions have now been taken up.

Now it is a matter of working out together what can be implemented, said Dieckmann on the further procedure.

And how did the youth assembly go down in principle?

"It's nice that we can meet again" - this statement was central.
