Observatory predicts that due to the active southwesterly airflow, there will be heavy showers and thunderstorms along the South China coast in the next two or three days. The thunderstorms are expected to continue until Next Monday (August 2nd).

At the beginning of next week, the active southwesterly airstream will move slightly away from the coast of Guangdong and showers in the area will decrease.

Tropical cyclone fireworks will traverse east China today and tomorrow and gradually evolve into extratropical cyclones.

According to the Observatory, an active southwesterly airstream is bringing showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong. It is forecasted that the local area will be generally cloudy in the afternoon and tonight with showers and squally thunderstorms. The rain is sometimes heavy and the southwesterly wind is moderated.

Looking forward to the next two or three days, there will be showers and squally thunderstorms, and sometimes heavy rain.

Between 1:45 pm and 2:44 pm, the Observatory recorded 503 cloud-to-ground lightning and 766 cloud-to-cloud lightning across Hong Kong, most of which occurred on Lantau Island.

The Observatory predicts that thunderstorms will continue until next Monday. There will be showers and squally thunderstorms tomorrow and Saturday (30 and 31), and the rain is sometimes quite heavy.

The temperature ranges from 26 to 30 degrees.

Showers and thunderstorms continued from Sunday to Monday (August 1st and 2nd).

There will be sunshine for a short period of time until next Tuesday (August 3), and the maximum temperature during the day will rise by 32 degrees; and the next four days (August 4-7) will be mostly cloudy with showers.

The Observatory also stated that at 12 noon, tropical low-pressure fireworks gathered about 150 kilometers south of Jinan, and are expected to move north-northeast at a speed of about 16 kilometers per hour across eastern China.

Fireworks will traverse east China today and tomorrow and gradually evolve into extratropical cyclones.
