The students are the hardest-working cyclists in the Würmtal. That shows the balance of this year's city cycling. But when it comes to action, there is an opportunity for many to shine - it's all a matter of statistics.

The students are the hardest-working cyclists in the Würmtal.

That shows the balance of this year's city cycling.

But when it comes to action, there is an opportunity for many to shine - it's all a matter of statistics.

Würmtal

- By setting a good example, the municipal councils can lead the way when it comes to city cycling. The organizers of the campaign have specially created a category called "MP km" in the evaluation of the balance sheet. Neuried's local councils knew how to use this opportunity for themselves. Seven out of 21 councilors participated in city cycling and pedaled for three weeks. The result: With a score of 51.7, they made it to first place not only in the Würmtal, but also in the Munich district. Now all they have to do is pull the newbie along and get them on the road to success. Because with 3.47 kilometers per inhabitant, the municipality does not make it to the top positions.

In this category, Planegg is at the forefront, because there the participants of the city cycling covered 9.95 kilometers per inhabitant: first place in the Würmtal and in the Munich district. In Gauting, the participants pedaled 7.22 kilometers per inhabitant, but managed a total of 155 295 kilometers - and that is significantly more than the participants in other Würmtal communities put on the scales. However, 633 students from the local Otto-von-Taube-Gymnasium (OvTG) accounted for 97,759 kilometers, making them the top team in the Starnberg district. They managed more kilometers alone than all participants in Graefelfing, Neuried and Krailling put together.

Even more impressive in Gauting is the ADFC team, which did not cover 154 kilometers per capita (OvTG), but a proud 628 kilometers. This number is clearly surpassed by the open team Krailling, which brought 914 kilometers per capita into the balance sheet, so that in the Würmtal is at the top and saved Krailling's honor. Because in terms of the total kilometers covered, this municipality takes the last place in the Würmtal with 24,600 kilometers. And Krailling's local councils do not give a good picture either. Two out of 21 took part in the campaign. In the “MP km” category, the municipality has a value of 1.5 and is not only in last place in the Würmtal, but also in the Starnberg district.

Graefelfing's municipal councilors, on the other hand, do not seem bad, they achieved a value of 8.1 in the category “MPs”. The values of the other communities in the Würmtal, on the other hand, are in the double-digit range (Gauting 37.7; Planegg 43.6). And Graefelfing brings up the rear in the Würmtal in terms of the number of kilometers per inhabitant (3.02). The cyclists from the Kurt-Huber-Gymnasium worked hard. They managed 163 kilometers per person - more than the Gauting high school students. The balance could look very different if more than 19 high school students had participated in Graefelfing. All in all, one can say about this year's city cycling: For every municipality there is a category in which it can shine - but there is still more to be done everywhere.
