A great achievement for Salamvit at the Israeli Eulin-Teferi.
The runner managed to set a new Israeli record with a great run of 14: 53.43 minutes, finished eighth in her end, which was much stronger than the equivalent, and also finished eighth of all participants in the semifinals.
The one who set the best time in the qualifiers was of course the Dutch gold medalist Sipan Hassan, who stopped the clock at 14: 47.89.
Shortly afterwards, Kenyan Agnes Jabet came in with a time of 14: 48.01 minutes and Ethiopian Senbera Teferi set a time of 14: 48.31.
The final will be held on Monday at 15:40 Israel time.
For the first time since 1976, an Israeli runner will participate in an Olympic final competition in the running track.

As mentioned, Bayulin-Teferi's assignment was much stronger than the one that came after him when the Ethiopian Godap Tsagai, who finished first in the corresponding assignment set a time of only 14: 55.74 minutes, a result that is far from even the Israeli, and certainly at the top.
One way or another, this is a great result for Bayulin-Teferi who throughout most of the running stages has been consistently around 6-5th place.
