Erding - Josef Grundner said goodbye to the best year in his career as headmaster on Thursday at the Heilig Blut girls' secondary school in Erding.

Erding - Josef Grundner said goodbye to the best year in his career as headmaster on Thursday at the Heilig Blut girls' secondary school in Erding.

What a year: 153 schoolgirls completed their secondary school leaving certificate at the Heilig Blut girls' secondary school in Erding.

75 of them managed a one before the decimal point, 40 even a cut to 1.5.

Josef Grundner has never seen such a good result in his 21 years as headmaster.

He emphasized this on Thursday during the celebrations.

For him it was the last of its kind, because the 65-year-old is retiring.

The certificates were awarded every one and a half hours in the festively decorated gym and in the multi-purpose room with a view of the garden.

Grundner and his deputy Christine Scharfe led through the program.

"In terms of preparation, it was certainly no worse than before Corona," emphasized Grundner.

Even on a small scale, it is possible to give the pupils a nice memory: "The event was planned from the beginning in the way it was ultimately implemented." Each pupil could bring a maximum of three accompanying persons to the awarding of certificates.

Student Clarissa Bauer at the piano joined the celebrations.

In the background there was a slide show of the graduates with class photos from the last school years.

He praised Grundner for the great result, but said “that the demands are not getting less and the time is not getting any more”.

He hopes that his students will approach every task - no matter which - with respect and a strong will.

Even if there were failures, it was important to continue.

The class teachers then addressed a few words to their protégés.

The start was bumpy, said Anne Hartling, the getting used to it was not easy on both sides.

But the girls would have turned things around.

"I am proud of you." She was also speechless about the overwhelming result.

District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer addressed the students and their families by video greeting.

Everyone has invested a lot of passion and commitment in the last few weeks.

“That deserves respect and recognition.” In the end, he advised the graduates: “Do what you think is right.” This applies to both private and professional life.

In addition, a little guardian angel with a prayer saying.

At the end a prayer and the blessing were said because the traditional church service could not take place on a large scale.

For many high school students, school is not over yet. This also applies to the five best female graduates. Hanna Mommertz (16 years old) from Erding and Alina Spitzl (16) from Zeilern (Pastetten municipality) passed the tests with a 1.0. Annika Jöhl (16) from Erding, Lena Mittermaier (16) from Oberneuching and Laura Jovanovic (15) from Erding are happy about an average grade of 1.08.

Mommertz will switch to the FOS in Landshut and take up the health branch there.

She wants to study physics or medicine one day.

Jöhl and Mittermaier are going to the FOS in Erding from autumn.

You have chosen the branch of international business with Spanish as a new foreign language.

Mommertz also changes to the FOS in Erding (social branch).

Jovanovic will continue in the 11th grade at the Korbinian-Aigner-Gymnasium in mid-September.

She skips the introductory class there and wants to study medicine and become a doctor after graduating from high school.

Then she would be the first in her family to go to university, she said proudly.
