A small consolation for children and adolescents plagued by pandemics: They can go to the Dachau family pool for free.

Children and adolescents have suffered from the restrictions of the pandemic.

As a small compensation, everyone from Dachau between the ages of six and 16 now has free entry to the family pool in August.

This action, which was suggested by the SPD parliamentary group, was decided by the city councils in the Family and Social Committee with a large majority.

Markus Kellerer (AfD) voted against.

"Children and young people had to put back a lot, now many families can not go on vacation, we want to give them fun and relaxation," said SPD city councilor Berkay Kengeroglu. However, as requested by the SPD, there will not be a fixed quota of 300 free entries per day. Since you have to register online for a visit to the outdoor pool anyway because of the Corona requirements, the Stadtwerke will be offering a new, additional ticket "Summer promotion - free entry for children from Dachau" on their ticket portal from July 31st. Dachau residents between the ages of six and 16 can register and book, and then instead of paying in the family pool, simply present a student ID card or something similar as proof. This promotion applies to children from the age of six, as younger children have free entry to the pool anyway. The costs, the public utilities incurred due to the failure of the entrance fees are calculated at around 12,000 euros. The city will take care of it, and it will probably be covered by the budget of the holiday program.
