Deadly summer: 12 people died from drowning within a week

During the week, 12 people died from drowning on the shores of Israel and in the pools, after trying to cool their bodies in the hot weather.
Since the beginning of the bathing season, 26 people have drowned, and another 122 have received medical treatment, nine of whom have been evacuated to hospitals in a critical or critical condition.
This week, too, the weather will be stormy, with hundreds of thousands flocking to the shores of the Mediterranean, the Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee.
Rescue services warn of the danger again and call on bathers to act responsibly.
"The last week has been particularly deadly," MDA said of the week, when about half of the fatal drownings occurred since the beginning of the season, during which the organization's staff members felt the drowning incidents on beaches and swimming pools.

Last Saturday, in just 24 hours, seven people drowned.
First, in the first drowning incident, a 42-year-old man drowned on the undeclared Ein Zvi beach, near Zichron Yaacov.
Less than an hour later, a young man about 20 years old drowned on Princess Beach in Eilat.
Later, the deaths of a 50-year-old man and his ten-year-old son who drowned on the Palm Beach in Acre were also determined.
Afterwards, a two-year-old toddler, Moshe Jan from Or Akiva, drowned on an undeclared beach in Hadera.
Eyewitnesses said he was playing in the sand at the fishing beach when suddenly a wave swept him into the depths of the sea.
He was pulled from the water in a critical condition, and was evacuated by MDA paramedics to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in the city, where doctors determined his death.

On Sunday, a four-year-old woman drowned from the center whose family was staying at a B&B in Manot, and her death was determined yesterday after several days of doctors fighting for her life.
On Monday, a 30-year-old surfer hit a rock deep in the sea off the coast of Herzliya, lost consciousness and was pronounced dead at the end of resuscitation operations.
The next day, Jalal Abu Alqian, a one-year-old baby in a bucket in Hura, drowned.
On Wednesday, a 40-year-old man drowned on Bograshov Beach in Tel Aviv, and this morning a 50-year-old man drowned on Gordon Beach in Tel Aviv.

The reason for the large number of drownings lies, among other things, in the inclement weather that prevailed this week throughout the country.
The coming week is also expected to be particularly hot, and the sea will be dangerous for bathing.
During the bathing season, 157 bathing beaches operate with rescue services: 105 along the Mediterranean Sea, 32 around the Sea of Galilee, 16 along the Dead Sea and four more along the Red Sea.
Beach veterans were not surprised by the high death toll.
