Nuremberg - good news for the economy!

The job market is getting better and better from the Corona crisis.

This is shown by the labor market figures for the city of Nuremberg * published on July 29th.

The unemployment figures are falling significantly compared to the same month last year.

Companies are also more willing to hire new employees.

It is now above the pre-crisis level.

In July 2021, 17,886 people were registered as unemployed in the urban area.

That is 515 fewer unemployed than in June 2021 (minus 2.8 percent) and 3,144 fewer unemployed than in July 2020. Specifically, this means: Compared to the same period of the previous year, Nuremberg's number of unemployed has decreased by 15 percent and thus more than the national average, here it was minus 11 percent.

The unemployment rate in Nuremberg is now 6 percent.

Nuremberg's economics and science officer sees the trend as positive

In July 2021 alone, the employment agency * received 1,517 new job offers for the city area.

That is 431 newly registered positions more than in July 2020. The current number of new positions thus even exceeds the pre-crisis level (July 2019: 1,194 newly registered positions).

Nuremberg economics and science advisor Dr.

Michael Fraas is satisfied: “The job market in Nuremberg is recovering significantly.

Unemployment is falling and job registrations are rising.

The many job vacancies from retail and catering show that these sectors are also

taking

courage and

hiring again
