The floods, rabid cyclists and bumpy roads - that is what the Ismaning people are concerned with at the citizens' meeting.

Ismaning

- A citizens' meeting in July is not comparable to the large events when the Ismaning municipality normally invites on January 6th.

On Wednesday evening, the community invited to the ball sports hall and held a meeting for both districts in the middle between Ismaning and Fischerhäuser.

This time only a few citizens came, but they had exciting things to say.

Willi Wantosch lives in the lower Isarau and watched the flood disaster of the past few weeks with concern.

He asked the community whether something like this could also happen in Ismaning during heavy rain events.

In addition, the well-known Ismaninger wanted to know what an alarm would look like in the community.

“We are not just concerned with the consequences of heavy rain,” said Mayor Alexander Greulich (SPD).

The church needs a plan for this.

Problematic areas are known: “We also have corners where the rain does not flow off as it should actually be.” The aim should be to plan heavy rain for the entire municipality.

The topic of classic siren alarms is also on the agenda.

Bernhard Ramisch spoke up and addressed the popular green corridor between the town center and the ice pond.

"The cyclists there often drive inconsiderately and that is a great risk of accidents," said the Ismaninger.

He wanted a separate cycle path to be created that would give pedestrians more safety.

The user conflict is not new to Mayor Greulich and the request was not surprising.

The community can only appeal to all road users to treat others with consideration.

The community is considering putting up signs on the heavily used path.

The mayor also made it clear that "an increase in bicycle traffic is politically desirable".

Road condition

Edgar Mühl, meanwhile, asked how long citizens had to wait after geothermal lines had been laid until the roads were restored to a good condition.

Mayor Greulich asked for a little patience.

“We still have a good budget, but our financial resources are finite.” Even a community like Ismaning has to stretch out various structural and civil engineering projects over a few years.

Even if only a fraction of the visitors from the Epiphany event came to the unusual gathering in the new ball sports hall, Question Time was as lively as ever.

The Ismaninger usually has something to say.
