Max Verstappen (Red Bull), leader of the Formula 1 championship, set the best time this Friday in the first free practice for the
Hungarian Grand Prix
, the eleventh of the championship, which takes place at the Hungaroring circuit, outside of Budapest.
But the news of the last hours was in the pits, with the first public face-to-face between Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, escort of the tournament only 8 points away, after what was his controversial accident last date at Silverstone, on 18 July.
That day, the Englishman left his colleague out after a highly questioned maneuver, which earned him a penalty but allowed him to win the race, shortening the distance in points that Verstappen led in the tournament.
With much anger, Max described as "disrespectful and unsportsmanlike" the actions of the man from the Mercedes team.
First head-to-head between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton after their accident in England.
Days ago, the young star and the multiple champion revealed that they made the passes.
Of course, the victim on that occasion acknowledged that it hurt to see Hamilton celebrate the triumph with the British flag while he was in the hospital healing his wounds.
In this context, the first crossing took place in the Hungarian training sessions, without their cars or helmets, away from the presence of the press.
It was in a corridor of the circuit pits and the image was captured on television.
Leader and escort of the contest seem to greet each other almost without looking up, fueling the climate of tension that surrounds this new rivalry from León.
One more seasoning for what will be the weekend in Budapest, and the dates that remain until the 2021 championship ends.

First batch of tests
On his best lap, Verstappen -with a soft tire- covered the 4,318 meters of the Hungarian track in one minute, 17 seconds and 555 thousandths, 61 less than the Finn Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) and with 167 over the captain of the latter, the English seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, second in the World Cup, eight points behind the Dutch.
It looks like not much on television, but this is absolutely frightening speed.
