At an official discharge ceremony on Thursday, 73 pupils from the Bürgermeister-Prandl-Mittelschule in Penzberg were awarded their diplomas.

39 have completed the qualifying secondary school leaving certificate (Quali) and 34 have passed the secondary school leaving certificate.

Penzberg - 51 students from the three ninth grades of the Penzberg School took the exams for the qualifying secondary school leaving certificate (Quali) this year.

"Over 70 percent of them passed the qualification", praised school principal Michael Zwick at the graduation ceremony, which took place in staggered form in the large hall of the town hall due to the corona requirements: First, the ninth graders received their certificates.

This was followed by the discharge ceremony for the two tenth grades.

Over 70 percent passed exams: According to the headmaster Zwick, this means that 39 students had successfully passed the qualification exams.

"Nine of them even passed better than with a grade of 2.1."

Exams for secondary school leaving certificate: All have passed

Of the 34 tenth graders who had taken their secondary school leaving exams, all of them would have passed, said the headmaster, who in his speech recalled the difficult conditions under which the students had to study in the corona pandemic - keyword homeschooling.

In addition, the students had to do without a lot.

For example, there were no final trips and only a few projects.

The fact that the tests were so good, "that makes us all proud," emphasized Zwick.

Teacher Michael Wagner also paid his graduate students “respect for this perseverance”.

The pedagogue quarreled a little with the laziness of some students, who had been difficult to defeat, but also praised his protégés for the “super togetherness” that existed between them and the teachers.

He expressly praised the great friendliness of the young people.

This friendliness in dealing with fellow human beings, according to Wagner, is much more important in the course of life than a good final grade.

Headmaster wishes confidence, courage and that little bit of luck in life

Second Mayor Markus Bocksberger naturally congratulated the young people on passing their exams.

But he also assured them that learning wasn't over just because you've graduated from school.

"School continues to accompany you," said Bocksberger.

Not only because you have to learn all your life, but also because your school days remain unforgettable as an important part of your memory.

Before the former students left the town hall with their parents as graduates, the headmaster had some good wishes ready for them: He wished them confidence in their own strengths, courage for new things and always that little bit of luck in life.

And, very important: "Take care of yourself."
