Anne Hidalgo
At 62, Anne Hidalgo was re-elected mayor of Paris in 2020 with 224,700 votes out of two million inhabitants, in a capital whose population continues to decline. Of modest social origin, the socialist mayor lived mainly in Vénissieux then in Paris. She discovered the charms of the province during recent trips that looked like a presidential pre-campaign to Villeurbanne, Montpellier and Nantes. Internationally, she tries to exist by chairing the Association of Francophone Mayors and the C40 Association, a network of environmentally sensitive cities. In Paris, she dreams of a city without a car and especially without commuters to cross it and does everything to limit travel even if it means endangering the businesses in the hypercentre.The road works have also reduced the commercial speed of buses by 20%, to the chagrin of the RATP and its passengers. Anne Hidalgore today represents a Socialist Party in decline. She
