Tunisian health sources revealed that the spread of the mutated strain of the Corona virus (Delta) reached 90 percent of all HIV infections in Tunisia, which makes it ranked first in the world in the level of spread of this mutation.
Tunisia Africa Agency quoted a member of the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona in Tunisia, Riad Daghfous, as saying today that "the prevalence of the Indian mutant (delta) in Tunisia has exceeded the extent of its spread in India, where it appeared for the first time," noting that containing the risks of this fast-spreading strain requires adherence to the rules of prevention. Accelerate the completion of the anti-Corona vaccination campaign.
Daghfous confirmed that the Tunisian Ministry of Health focuses on completing vaccinations for people over 50 years old, followed by the younger groups, until reaching the vaccination of young people and then children.
It is noteworthy that the mutated (Delta) causes high rates of hospitalization and an increasing demand for oxygen and resuscitation beds. It is also characterized by the severity of symptoms that result from infection and the rapid spread of infection that outweighs other strains, as well as affecting all age groups, including children.
