"From the evening onwards, heavy thunderstorms are expected from Switzerland and the Alps," writes the DWD in its advance notice.
The thunderstorms move northeast to east to Bavaria.
In the further course they will probably grow together "to a larger thunderstorm or heavy rain area".
There is therefore a local risk of heavy rain * with up to 40 liters per square meter within an hour.
Heavy squalls and hail three centimeters in diameter can also occur.

For large parts of Bavaria, the DWD has issued advance information on severe thunderstorms.

The DWD points out that the advance information serves to enable the timely preparation of protective measures.
"Thunderstorms with the side effects mentioned typically occur very locally and usually only hit a few places with full intensity," says the weather service.
Acute warnings are therefore issued promptly if necessary.
The DWD's report is currently valid from 6 p.m. on the edge of the Alps until 4 a.m.
