The 10-storey building has been without a lift since the beginning of June. The occupants will have to wait until a part is replaced, ess

“It's a collective fed up!

»It is enough to go up the 9 floors which lead to the appearance of Lucie, to understand the problem.

Located at 26 boulevard du Maréchal Leclerc in Joinville-le-Pont, this building, with around twenty apartments, has been experiencing recurring elevator failures since the beginning of June.

Since this period, 4 tenants have remained blocked there, which required the intervention of the elevator operator.

However, shortly after the machine was put back into service, new failures were triggered, angering residents.

“At the beginning we said to ourselves that it could happen. But when we see that this problem has been dragging on for several weeks, for a moment we say stop, ”says Lucie, mother of two children. “I live on the ninth floor, I have a 3-year-old child who tells me he has a heartache walking up the stairs, and an infant that I carry in his carrycot. You add to that the errands, and it gives a monumental hassle for which we continue to pay the elevator costs. She's not the only victim of the broken elevator. The building has elderly people located on the tenth floor, who resign themselves to staying at home or a man with heart surgery, who spends about twenty minutes climbing the stairs because of the many breaks to take.

The problem also affects tenants of the second, who include a teenager in a wheelchair.

“His father carries him home, and comes down to get the chair.

When he works, the child cannot leave his home, it is too heavy for his mother ”.

The reason for these recurring breakdowns is linked to a part of the elevator that needs to be changed.

According to the lessor LogiRep, the latter is out of stock.

A porter service until the return to service

Faced with the dissatisfaction of these Joinville tenants, LogiRep recognizes the many breakdowns that occurred during the month of June.

After a new stop on July 7, the elevator technician Otis sent an estimate for the replacement of a part in the control cabinet.

Concretely, this is the place that meets most of the elevator's functions: up, down, braking, buttons or even contact with the emergency services.

The heart of the machine.

According to Otis "the device cannot be put back in place without this part which they are struggling to receive".

LogiRep and Immo France Paris, the building union, agree that everything should be back to normal by the end of August.

Until then, the lessor asks Otis "to set up, by Monday at the latest, help from a portage company to assist the occupants".

A news that leaves Lucie doubtful. "It would surprise me that we would benefit from it on Monday, but it is already more practical than the pulley system that we had desperately thought of putting in place to carry our races". An ounce of relief for these tenants who are hoping for a return to normal for the start of the school year.
