And suddenly they were gone: the CSU and SPD left the meeting of the municipal council angry.

That's behind it.

Feldkirchen

- Scandal in the Feldkirchen municipal council: CSU and SPD closed the meeting on Thursday.

The trigger was the dispute over a new senior citizens' residence in the industrial park.

The construction committee had approved the project days before with 6: 5 votes.

The SPD and CSU wanted to discuss this again in the local council, but the other parliamentary groups refused.

The frustrated departure followed.

Surprisingly for everyone, Mayor Andreas Janson (UWV) had the SPD and CSU's request for a renewed consultation of the project in September “due to urgency” retrospectively put on the current agenda.

He himself did not believe in the new debate: “We have discussed the subject so often that everyone knows what it is about.

I think it's just fair to the investor, if he has clarity and can continue planning. ”If the project is postponed to September, the builder could throw a lot of money into the sand if the local council rejects the project.

Herbert Vanvolsem (CSU) had previously asked several times how Janson justified the "urgency", "if we discuss this in September, no one, especially not the community, will be harmed".

"Now it's easy enough"

The CSU and SPD had already rejected the project in the building committee. The points of criticism: wrong location, far off the beaten track, far too expensive for Feldkirchner seniors and only the investor earns from it. According to Christian Wilhelm (SPD) there are numerous other points that have not yet been clarified. "We want to discuss this in the local council - but not today and without any preparation," complained Wilhelm. From his point of view, the request was received by the municipality on time, so that the item could have been regularly put on the agenda, not at such short notice and surprisingly. Janson denied this: "The application came too late, but in the course of urgency and fairness towards the investor, I want to put it on the agenda now."

With 11: 9 votes, the majority of the UWV and the Greens put the item on the agenda.

When it was supposed to be discussed, Michael Schön (UWV) immediately submitted the motion, without voting on any discussion: "We had not discussed the topic publicly six times and once publicly in detail and with all the arguments - now it's simple enough." CSU municipal council Vanvolsem replied that this is definitely not possible: "The project will bring serious changes for the community, that must be discussed by the local council and not just the building committee." against a discussion.

"A very stupid game"

When Janson wanted to read out the resolution, the nine councilors of the CSU and SPD left the room.

Incredible amazement among colleagues and the mayor.

"I've been on the committee for over 13 years now, but I've never seen that before, there's always something new to do," said Janson, shaking his head.

Silvia Pahl-Leclerque (Greens) scolded: “A very stupid game of colleagues, I don't like that.” Alexander Zimmermann (UWV) asked for the behavior of the CSU and SPD to be checked by the local authority.

Branch manager Heinz-Josef Reiser assured that he wanted to submit all processes and votes to the legal supervisory authority.

The final vote on the senior project ended 11-0.

The project

The retirement home with 58 condominiums is to be built in the industrial park at the end of Dornacher Strasse.

According to architect Michael Winkelmann, the key data are:

O Two four-story buildings, each 13.50 meters high, facing the S-Bahn with special double soundproofing spaces, apartments between 45 and 85 square meters.

O Of the 58 apartments, six should be barrier-free and six wheelchair-accessible.

O In the basement garage for residents as well as 42 extra-wide parking spaces and two bicycle storage rooms.

O Additional services that can be booked: Concierge with post office, housekeeping service for repairs and garden maintenance, 24-hour emergency call system, housekeeping with all daily errands, including food, to outpatient care services.

Detailed discussions have already been held with three care service operators and a doctor about the care of the senior citizens' residential park.
