The Marie-Pettenbeck-Schule said goodbye to its graduates, due to the pandemic in two phases: first the tenth grade, then the ninth.

It was the end of an unusual school year in many ways.

Wartenberg - In the tenth grade, Rene Brandenburg (1.22), Simon Strobl, Haris Pilipovic, Hannes Scharl and Antonia Sorca (all 1.44) were ahead of the average.

In the ninth grades were Michael Berghammer, Maximilian Gruber, Benedikt Heitmann (all 1.7), Emilie Leitsch (1.8), Alexander Bauer, Lisa Pfanzelt, Sebastian Straßer (all 1.6), Selina Käser de Santos (1, 5) and Sandra Gumberger (1.3) the best.

School association chairman and mayor Christian Pröbst called the school a "great bunch" in the evening in front of the ninth grade and their families, but also thanked the parents "that they were a strong support for their children."

Of course, he could not skip the enormous efforts that lie ahead of the school association.

He particularly addressed the IT infrastructure and thanked system administrator Henning Bayer, who received spontaneous applause.

Previously, in Grucking in the tenth grade, headmaster Michael Braun had particularly emphasized the Computer-AG and said to this class: “Unfortunately, there is no longer any possibility that we can keep you with us.

Unfortunately.

An incredibly committed year is leaving us. "

That was a little different in the evening for the ninth grade, because some of them will stay and perhaps continue something that could become tradition: the first graduation prank in the almost 50-year history of the school. However, the students were also extremely hardworking and had shown perseverance in inflating the 1,000 or so balloons with which they had filled the auditorium. Tapes made it impossible to get through the hallways, and a "holdup" with water pistols rounded it off. Comment from Braun: "Respect, praise and recognition."

In general, according to Braun, it was a great time, and a special year for him: He had taken over the school management on the very day the current graduates started their fifth grade.

At the time, Braun donated pretzels that the students remembered: "That was the only positive thing about the day."

In general, the teachers had to listen to some things, as always at discharge ceremonies.

Above all, the subject religion should do something for its image: That the students saw this as "relaxation" should give the teachers something to think about.

The three class teachers also had something to tell, as is tradition, and put the whole thing in a kind of fairy tale in which Corona became a plague that forced the “subjects of the empire” into their caves.

The pandemic has changed society, and Jessica Garay, representing the parents' council, passionately called on young people to get involved: “You are needed!” KLAUS KUHN
