The months of July and August are usually the hottest in the Levant and the Gulf, but temperatures are recording high numbers in recent years, in line with the expectations of the World Meteorological Organization, to enter the current year among the group of the hottest years on Earth.
The head of the Syrian Astronomical Society, Dr. Muhammad Al-Asiri, explained to SANA that the year 2021 has exceeded the natural temperature levels in the world, especially in June and July. According to studies, it is expected that August of this year will be exceptional in terms of high temperatures.
Al-Asiri explained that the rise in temperatures is not due to the sun or any cosmic event, but rather to the high rate of global fossil carbon dioxide emissions, as the man-made satellites recorded a very high percentage of this gas, amounting to 418.94 molecules per million molecules in the atmosphere, and the natural ratio is 250 molecules per million molecules.
According to Al-Asiri, the positions of “Al-Haq’a” and “Al-Hana’a”, which are among the 28 lunar positions, are among the hottest periods of the year.
