Tomorrow, the implementation of the new mechanism for the sale of bread will begin in the governorates of Lattakia, in conjunction with the governorates of Tartous and Hama, after the procedures related to determining and fixing the citizens' allocations of bread at the authorized and outlets have been completed.

The director of internal trade and consumer protection in the governorate, Samer Soussi, said in a statement to SANA reporter that sales outlets were expanded in the governorate in the countryside and the city to facilitate the process of obtaining the material and prevent crowding, in coordination with the governorate through the administrative units and the branch of the Syrian Bakeries Corporation.

Soussi pointed out that the data before the launch of the new sales process indicates that more than 256748 citizens have identified their own sales outlets, with the continuation of the settlement process and the increase in the number of citizens who install their sales points daily.

Soussi explained that the public bakeries in the governorate are distributed among 17 bakeries affiliated to the branch of the Syrian Bakery Corporation, and 200 private bakeries distributed in all regions of the governorate.

And he indicated that 733 outlets and selling points of bread were identified over the area of ​​the governorate, including 461 in the governorate’s countryside, 137 outlets in the halls and centers of the Syrian Trade Corporation, and 33 bread boxes belonging to the Corporation’s branch of bakeries, in addition to 102 accredited within the city of Lattakia.

The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection indicated that Friday of every week was approved as a holiday for public and private bakeries in the governorate, enabling them to carry out periodic maintenance and thus produce better quality bread.

In Tartous, the director of internal trade and consumer protection in the governorate, Youssef Hassan, stated that the number of cards that were resettled in the governorate amounted to 236,000 cards out of 286,000, with an implementation rate of 82 percent, pointing out that any citizen can resettle his card at the time he wants, even after the launch of the new mechanism .

Hassan added that not settling the remaining cards is due to personal freedom, as there may be citizens who eat brown bread, samoon and so on, pointing out that the number of approved and bread selling points in the governorate is 1,23 approved and a point of sale.

He pointed out that the citizen has the right to take his allowances of bread from the authorized person whom he chooses according to the “Where” application.

In Hama, Riyad Zayoud, Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the number of electronic cards domiciled in Hama governorate reached 342,000, while the number of approved is 843, and the number of points of sale with halls and 955 hall associations.

Zayoud indicated that the new mechanism took into account the needs of families according to the number of their members, in addition to the concerns and opinions raised during the workshops held on this subject, and new segments were added that could get five or six bundles of bread per day.
