The case of Guadalupe Covernton was recently known, who expressed her concern on social networks for the information that was being given to one of her children about agricultural production in a school in Rosario.

Specifically, pesticides were called "pesticides".

Faced with the request that went viral, the agronomist

Alberto Balbarrey

, better known as "Balbito" was one of the first made available to Guadalupe.

Thus, together they put together a talk to give their point of view about the misconceptions that the grade teacher, supported by the manuals, had explained at the time.

For Balbarrey it is not an isolated situation and it is not the first time that he has done it since for a year and a half he has been in charge of

the Aula Aapresid Program

, with the aim of

promoting the dissemination of sustainable production

in Argentine fields, seeking that the project reaches the entire community.

At first, the talks were directed to schools but later it was expanded to other areas.

"Balbito" is 63 years old and is dedicated to agricultural advice in the Tandil area. “When I went to school, they talked about the agricultural country,

the teachers made you feel proud of being a country that among the things it boasted was cattle ranching and agriculture

, being one of the best in the world. Today that we are a power, unfortunately, the information in the manuals has changed, "he told Clarín Rural.

In this sense, he stressed that what the teaching books currently show is that agricultural production is polluting, that people take their money abroad, that they do not work with the community and that they are not supportive. “

I don't like being made to feel like I'm not part of society

. I am part of society and very strong, I work a lot for others. We learned with technology and for us it is a means for people to be better, "he reflected.

Aula Aapresid was born in 2010 in the midst of a crisis with the Kirchner government when it saw that a crack began to deepen that once again separated the agri-food community from the rest of society.

And considering the little, and sometimes erroneous, information on the consequences and effects generated by agricultural production in Argentina,

the project seeks to communicate the message in a didactic and easily understandable way

.

Basically, from this program they seek to explain the importance of producing using all resources in the most efficient and sustainable way possible.

Among the concepts disclosed by the entity are those of

promoting the application of Good Agricultural Practices such

as the

non-removal of soil, crop rotation, integrated pest management, client and responsible management of agrochemicals, nutrition, inclusion of service crops, among other specific issues.

There is biased information, very aimed at creating cracks

, like everything in this country.

There will be good and bad things that are done in the field, nobody denies it, there are many things to correct.

That is why we work and avoid only looking at our navel, "he said.

She told several anecdotes that she has had to live since she was the leader of the Aula Aapresid Program.

Good and not so good experiences during your talks.

He recalled that they have even insulted him when he tried to give the message but "Balbito" believes that it is a "battle" that the sector has to give.

"

We have to go where we play as a visitor,

" he concluded, highlighting that the project transcended the classrooms and is now also targeting the entire community.
