The new strategy, with María Eugenia Vidal and Diego Santilli as the main exponents, involves talks with neighbors at tables arranged in the neighborhoods.

It was 2014, Mauricio Macri aspired to be president the following year and his main campaign strategy was to visit neighboring houses, whom he listened to while they shared a mate.

The tours were repeated through Mendoza, Chaco, the interior of Buenos Aires and thus throughout almost the entire country.

The method, which had already worked for him on the path that took him from the Boca Juniors presidency to the Buenos Aires government headquarters, was perfected and became "surprise" visits to the neighbors.

Macri

rang the bell

and those who received him were incredulous in the presence of the now former President.

The stamps were an emblem for Macrismo

and its main exponents.

This is how María Eugenia Vidal spent a good part of the campaign before being elected governor of Buenos Aires, in 2015, and she continued with that strategy during the mandate.

But times have changed, mate does not pass from hand to hand in the midst of a pandemic that, as with so many other things, put one of the favorite traditions of Argentines on hold.

The

political times

within the main opposition force

also

changed

.

The then president Mauricio Macri and María Eugenia Vidal, during a ringing in Luján.

It was a classic of macroism.

Macri, relegated to the political arm of Juntos por el Cambio for the Simultaneous and Compulsory Open Primary elections (PASO) after his failed attempt to get Vidal to compete in the Province of Buenos Aires, follows from outside the country the start of a campaign that has Horacio Rodríguez Larreta as the main exponent.

The first contacts between the candidates and the residents, both in the City and in Buenos Aires territory, are a whole message.

Doorbells and balloons are no longer the trademark

.

The new tool is visits to different neighborhoods and

tables shared

with neighbors.

It is a change of strategy and a turning of the page of the campaign team that now responds to the head of the Buenos Aires government.

The new modality is called within the campaign style manual as "listening".

The candidates visit a neighborhood where there is a table set up to be close to the neighbors and talk with them.

This Saturday there were dozens of candidates who in different parts of the province of Buenos Aires replicated the scheme, with the pre-candidate for deputy Diego Santilli as the main exponent.

Santilli toured Quilmes with the former mayor and candidate Martiniano Molina and the candidate for deputy Graciela Ocaña.

The former deputy head of the City Government held meetings with neighbors who were approaching two to maintain social distance.

The tables were also in different corners of the main cities of the AMBA, with militants distributing pamphlets and trying to bring the proposals of their candidates closer to the neighbors.

The one who perhaps defined in a few words the new territorial campaign strategy was Fabian Perechodnik, a candidate for provincial deputy, who went out to campaign with the mayor of La Plata, Julio Garro.

“We started with all the strength, enthusiasm and care.

This is a different campaign.

We are here to listen.

We Argentines and La Plata live a year of sadness, anguish and loss.

Now we have to work together to recover all that we lost.

Because listening is understanding.

And we do that by being close and together ”, he expressed.

We started !!!!

We went out to LISTEN.

On Friday it had been Vidal, who left the Buenos Aires territory to compete in the City, who led different visits to Recoleta, Flores and Floresta.

In the first one, she was accompanied by Elisa Carrió, founder of the Civic Coalition and a reference point for Juntos por el Cambio.

That photo took on special relevance in the midst of the open dispute that Carrió has with Facundo Manes, the first candidate on the list that will compete with Diego Santilli in the Province.

Hours later, the leader of the Civic Coalition announced that she will denounce the neuroscientist for having said that she offered to run for vice president in 2015.

Vidal's tour of the City continued this Saturday, with the presence, in addition, of Rodríguez Larreta and the president of PRO,

Patricia Bullrich

Today I toured Almagro, where I lived for several years, I met again with the neighbors to chat.
