More than 40 people were injured, three of them seriously, in the earthquake that hit the northern coast of Peru yesterday and also damaged many buildings.
And the state news agency Andina quoted Jose Nizama, director of health in the city of Piura, as saying that the earthquake, which measured 6.1 on the Richter scale, has so far left more than 40 injured, including three seriously.
For its part, the Civil Security Directorate said that the earthquake damaged at least 187 homes and four temples.
In turn, the National Institute of Geophysics said that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 12 kilometers west of Solana, near the border with Ecuador, at a depth of 36 kilometers.
The Directorate of Marine Survey and Navigation reassured that there is no danger of a tsunami from the earthquake.
