While the Zollingen daycare centers are receiving air filter devices, the Zollingen elementary and middle school has received a rejection.

Zolling

- The daycare centers in the Zolling community are getting air filter systems - this was recently decided by the local council (we reported). The situation is different for elementary and middle school: At the school association meeting on Thursday - a special meeting specifically on this topic - four association members were in charge of purchasing the equipment. But just as many were against it - and the whole thing was rejected with 4: 4 votes. At the beginning, Mayor Helmut Priller had made it clear that he was critical of the whole thing - although he had voted in the local council for the facilities in the daycare centers. His main argument on Thursday: “I not only pull the air through the room, but also the viruses. There is no other way technically. This is my biggest concern: that the air is being churned rather than purified."In addition, the air exchange in the front rows was no longer measurable during the test run," explained Priller, who also emphasized: "Every single infection that we can prevent with such devices is worth the money, no question about it." In the end, he agreed but against it, as well as school association member Manuela Flohr (teacher at the elementary and middle school in Zolling), school association member Helga Schöffmann from Freising and Langenbach's mayor Susanne Hoyer.School association member Helga Schöffmann from Freising and Langenbach's mayor Susanne Hoyer.School association member Helga Schöffmann from Freising and Langenbach's mayor Susanne Hoyer.

Attenkirchen's city hall chief Mathias Kern, Wolfersdorf's 2nd mayor Bernhard Schweiger, Haag's municipal chief Anton Geier and Zolling's councilor Julia Dichtl had spoken out in favor of the air filter devices. After the vote, Priller was visibly pleased with the result and emphasized: "I am pleased that we are not unanimously chasing the herd."

What was still important to explain to the chairman of the school association and Mayor Priller before the vote: “We are considering a stationary ventilation system for the Zolling elementary and middle school for the coming year. If we vote in favor of mobile devices today, I hope that this will not become a counter-argument for the really great, effective system. "That is 80 percent of the government subsidies. In addition, with these systems, the air and possible viruses are not drawn across the room, but sucked off above the children's heads.

After the vote, Priller appealed to the association members to collect sound arguments against the mobile air filter devices in order to be able to justify the decision clearly and conclusively in the event of a possible confrontation with the parents. Helga Schöffmann jumped aside Priller, mentioning the fact that you still have to ventilate with air filter devices. In addition, no one guarantees that distance teaching will be a thing of the past. And the mask requirement will probably continue to apply. Priller says: "Very good."
